When my husband and I were first introduced to Shaklee we were also beginning to build green energy efficient homes.  So we knew back in 1994 that we wanted to be partnered with a company like Shaklee with a stellar environmental legacy. When we say that Shaklee was green before green was a thing, we mean it. Shaklee was the first company in the world to be certified Climate Neutral. While we celebrate 20 years of our Shaklee’s certification, let’s look at what it exactly means and why it’s such an important milestone for us.

We’re carbon neutral.

Obtaining a Climate Neutral designation means that we’ve completely offset our CO₂ emissions, resulting in a net zero impact on the environment. This is so important because carbon is a greenhouse gas, a form of air pollution that alters the Earth’s atmosphere and its living conditions. So for us to be carbon neutral means that we track our carbon emission and offset all of them by displacing “dirty” energy with clean renewable energy credits and carbon offsets.

We measure, offset, and reduce our carbon emissions.

In our ongoing efforts to maintain our carbon neutrality, we purchase 100% renewable energy, renewable energy credits, and greenhouse gas emission offsets for worldwide activities. We also calculate our Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions every year in accordance with the GHG Protocol by the World Resources Institute/World Business Council for Sustainable Development. We’ve been able to offset 100% of our greenhouse gas emissions, and we’ll continue to look for ways to reduce our impact.

We’re in it for the long run.

Bringing true wellness to the world includes our planet, which is why we’ve always been committed to helping to keep our planet healthy in any way possible. In addition to offsetting 100% of our greenhouse gas emissions, we make efforts to reduce our consumption of electricity and gas as well as materials use through reducing our packaging, reusing shipping cartons, and utilizing post-consumer recycled paper. Not only do we reduce our impact on the Earth, but we give back as well. We have a commitment to plant 10 million trees within the next 10 years.

The greenhouse gas inventory for 2015 covering all Shaklee operations worldwide, including the US, Canada, Japan, China, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan, was reviewed by third-party WSP Global, in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for all six Kyoto-defined greenhouse gases. In addition, Shaklee purchased additional offsets in order to voluntarily comply with the new Scope Two guidelines.
• 2016 Shaklee is again 100% net carbon neutral. The greenhouse gas inventory for 2016 for Shaklee worldwide operations was reviewed by third-party WSP Global in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for all six Kyoto-defined greenhouse gases. In keeping with the new Scope Two guidelines, Shaklee purchased renewable energy credits from the countries in which emissions were generated wherever possible and carbon offsets for the balance.
• 2017 Shaklee again achieves 100% net carbon neutral status and does so in compliance with the Scope Two guidelines to purchase renewable energy credits from the countries in which emissions are generated wherever possible. The greenhouse gas inventory for 2017 for Shaklee worldwide operations was reviewed by WSP Global in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol for all six Kyoto-defined greenhouse gases. For those countries in which renewable energy credits were either unavailable or unverifiable, Shaklee purchased additional carbon offsets.

Have you ever done this?! I was journaling on the bed one summer while on vacation in Pensacola at our rented beach house and walked away from my open pen.  When I came back this is what I found!  (I would have had to replace two queen bedspreads and all the many pillows and bedding to the tune of more than $300.00  if it were not for Nature Bright! ) All I did is soak it overnight in Nature Bright right inside the washer and then ran it the next morning.  And I remembered to take before and after pictures.

Quick Cleaning Power

I cannot say enough about Nature Bright!! This product really takes the place of ANY liquid bleach on the market!! I can put 2 TBS of this powder in my large, non-stainless steel kitchen sinks and fill it up with the hottest water, then walk away for 30 minutes and my sink looks brand new. When there are food stains, I use another Shaklee product (Scour Off) and stains disappear in an instant!

Gets Out Most Every Stain

I love Nature Bright. I have gotten out even canned tomato sauce from white canvas sneakers! It took soaking for several days, but it came out without damaging the canvas. I have even brightened delicate antique doilies that my great grandmother made. I do not use bleach in my house. I will use Nature Bright on my fiberglass shower stalls, white porcelain sinks….basically anything that needs to have a stain removed with a gentle, but effective cleaner. (yes, I test for colorfastness). No strong smells, cleans and maintains the fabric integrity and safe for my septic system. Love it!

I recently had a friend that couldn’t get the “car window friendly” paint off their car after it was decorated for a senior football game. They tried every cleaner they could find with really toxic chemicals and nothing would work. I used one tablespoon of this in a glass of water and smeared it all over the windows and it came off with the swipe of a paper towel. I have used all of the Shaklee cleaners for 34 years and have not found a stain that won’t come out.

Best Laundry Product Ever!
